I think the news portion needs to be distinguished from everything else in some way. Otherwise, it just looks like one big page of words to read. It has no focus distinguished "links" and "news". If you want the grey minimalism I think adding in other fresh elements while keeping the san serif would be interesting. I'm really better at showing what I mean. I threw this together, it is really crude and would need more developing but I think some distress and paint spatters would look nice with some vector treatment. That stuff is really hot right now. I have some real paint spatter work scanned in but I wouldn't get them until later this evening. And a chi rho would make a nice phatmass logo because the p is also like p = phatmass. But it's totally cool if y'all have your own needs. I also have flash and could animate it. My client didn't get back to me this week so I have a 3 day weekend... Just wanting to offer a helping paw!
