*teen4Christ* Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005
I have a question kinda like this situation...which is better to do if you find yourself in this situation: commiting gluttney...or wasting food if there is no way to preserve it.... I've always been kinda curious...
yeah....thats what I want to know
Lil Red Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 put it under wraps for later. ever heard of tupperware? God bless you for being so vigilant on your fast.
Lil Red Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005
I have a question kinda like this situation...which is better to do if you find yourself in this situation: commiting gluttney...or wasting food if there is no way to preserve it.... I've always been kinda curious...
i would say do everything in your power to avoid the situation from happening in the first place....put reminders on your fridge (i gave my youth group little fish that they can tape to their fridge to remind them of their Lenten fasting regulations), remind your parents if they don't remember (like, on Friday mornings [or even before you go to bed on Thursday] when you get up "Mom/Dad, remember today is a day of fasting/abstinence")....etc..... i would suggest that first instead of worrying about what might happen...do everything in your power to avoid it in the first place.
Meggie Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 perhaps she fears that you are going to far....talk to her....she's your mom, not a roomful of judges (although sometimes I would rather talk to a room full of judges, lol)
littlewilli Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 no not like in special cases during Lent...just in general which one is worse...?
delta557 Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005
ok so what does one do when one is fasting and one's mother (not knowing that one is fasting) brings one a plate of fruit to eat????? does one eat it or does one say- sorry mother but even though you went through all that hard work to prepare for me this delicious looking plate of fruit I cannot eat it. one needs help- one thanks you
You look for the nearest window, no matter how high up you are, and you jump out of it. Comon, don't tell me you dont think it'd be awesome if someone happend to see it. Plus, it totally gets rid of the awkward silence that occurs when she puts the plate down. And people in the movies never get hurt when they jump out of windows, so you should be ok too!
