Mrs. Bro. Adam Posted February 24, 2005 Author Posted February 24, 2005 It's an extremely small operated company. Please pray that I get down the hill and home safely. Thank you.
Sojourner Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 Drive slow and keep a good following distance from other cars. You'll be fine.
Brother Adam Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 ha. Ohioans are pansies. I can't believe they closed school today. Even profs didn't show up and some classes were cancelled. There's not even an inch on the ground. Pansies. I walked in the snowing weather without a coat to school this morning and I'm just fine.
Theoketos Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005
ok grandpa.
2nded
Jazz4jesus Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 Back in my day we walked miles after miles through snow to get to class. Snow 5 feet above our heads. It may be easy to get down in the valley but i tell you boy walking in that snow up the other side to reach class aint easy. Now our teachers would already be there with our tests on stone tablets. If we were but a second late, we would get a 0. Snow shouldnt prevent you from getting to class
The road itself isn't that great right now, but she's talking about the driveway up to the shop. Its extremely steep and slippery in snowy weather. The plows at least are running on the roads, but in snowy weather even her bosses don't drive up that driveway. They park at the bottom and walk up.
theculturewarrior Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 Hmmm... I would drive you home but last time I drove on ice I crashed. And it's been 9 years.
What schools? the Steubenville city schools? I still had classes today! ALL 5 of 'em! AND I drove back to Columbus, all safe and sound. The roads weren't THAT bad.

theculturewarrior Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Once I called in sick because it was raining.
jgirl Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 (edited) My first year at FUS, my roommate was student teaching. They always either cancel school in that area or have delays. I know because four out of the five days of the week she'd get a phone call at 3 am telling her there was a delay And in defense of the profs, a lot of them live pretty far away, or at least in the country of wintersville. M. Williams, the French prof, said that they never plowed by him and sometimes he thought he wouldn't be able to make it. Edited February 27, 2005 by jgirl
