Guest Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 (edited)
Really? What did they do?
o they were jus showen how all the healings he does, that none of them can be backed up by a doctor or be showen as true documented cases of healing someone..... they intervied this boy and his uncle who hinn and declared he had healed his eyesight and promiced he would send this child to school.......ten years later the kid hasnt gotton a penny....... they showed his spending records and traced alot of the stuff....the ministry pays for his hotel room and other pesonal stuff which is around 2000 dollars on many occasions becuz he stays at presidental sweets....... It showed his mansion and all of his exspenicve cars....benzes ect.......... it showed how he wouldnt do a interview for the last three years with dateline....it showed him on tbn saying how the Lord told him not to speak to dateline..... It was pretty good...........I think Benny is prolly a decent guy, he's jus fell into the trap of loveing the world and the things it has to offer..... Edited March 7, 2005 by Guest
crusader1234 Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I think its a good argument for Catholic priests. Nobody can argue that they do it for the money. Sure, you can get into a situation where you're living it up, but thats up to the church to decide. They could just as easily send you to Africa.

Archangel Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005
how do u explain all the people passin out and stuff thoughq
I remember watching an expose before on a news show about religious fraudsters and the reporter said that people will do it out of peer pressure. Just imagine, you go up on stage to be healed and you just stand there. Everyone around you will think, "What's up with this guy? Doesn't he feel the power of the Holy Spirit? Something must be wrong with him." So you just fall on your back to fit in with the crowd's expectations.
Paladin D Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I went to a Benny Hinn Crusade before I converted (or reverted) to Catholicism. It's very emotional, and I was one of the hundreds of teens that was called down to the stage and was slained. I fell on people and people fell on me, and all I felt was pressure on my body, no pain. Not sure what to make of it. My mother felt she was healed (she wasn't on stage) of TMJ, and believe it or not there was no cracking coming from her jaw, which usually happens when she yawns or stretches her mouth. But few/several months later, it came back.
1337 k4th0l1x0r Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I always thought he was a little strange. They'd play that music and he'd turn the cameras to a slow shutter speed and do stupid stuff. Gotta love those British comedians.

musturde Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I'm not gunna judge him and I was thinking about this yesterday. I believe the Holy Spirit works through him to a degree to show Gods people that God is with them and can work miracles but the sicknesses tend to come back which may show that God's not completely workign through him... I could be wrong, perhaps God's just releaving people of some time in sickness. I heard he's lebanese and was a priest before he became a healer.
cooltuba Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I'm not judjing wether or not the Holy Spirit may work through him, but I know he's fallen into the material world too far for my personal taste. They had one of his supporters on, and she said "I bet the head of NBC lives extravagantly, a man of the Lord should live even better than the head of a major corporation" I heartily disagree. A Christian leader should imitate Christ as fully as possible. On average, Benny Hinn and his family took about 30,000 a month in PETTY CASH, on top of what Benny Hinn Ministries paid them. There were things like Hinn getting 30,000 cash for travel expenses for a Crusade that was thirty minutes from his home. He's taken to living like a movie star, and that's not what a lminister with as many followers as he has should be living like. He does at least do some good, though. *Prayers* Pax, Tim
