by the way.. if it matters.. Michael Schumacher won that race at indy.. and Barachello was 2nd, so it was a Ferarri 1-2 finish, They were not exactly thrilled about it though

shane hmiel has been suspended by NASCAR for failing its substance abuse policy.. for the 2nd time.. hes suspended until 2007.. hopefully he can get himself cleaned up

tomorrow/today is Bud Pole QUalifying which is quite important at a road course since there is not much passing.. I hope it doesn't get rained out or something,.. that shuts out a lot of the road course ringers

The Qualifying is at 6PM tonight on Speed.. the truck race from Milwalkee is on speed tonight too at 9PM

Busch from Milwalkeee: Saturday at 9 FX

Cup from Sanoma: Sunday at 6 on Fox

I don't think the Fox/FX crew has many more races actually before they go to NBC/TNT

Jeff Gordon was the last car to qualify, and beat out his teammate Jimmie Johnson for the pole.

the "ringers" didn't run it too hard, as they were "go or go home", but Boris Said stil was able to grab 4th, so he will be right up there Sunday. was surpised to see Jose Louis Ramirez spin out, guess he was trying to hard, now he's not in the race

from the "mIlwalkee Mile"..

Dennis Setzer won the truck race, Johnny Sauter won a reain shortened Busch race. Martin Truex Jr.'s 2nd place was enough to grab him the points lead.

I took in some racing at the local track, the Lorain County Speedway Saturday night, had a lot of fun. Saw late models, Modifides, Grand Nationals, Street Stoks... and School Busses race haha. I took a scanner there for the 1st time. They don't allow pit crews to talk to their drivers during the race, but I heard the flag man, race officials and stuff, so that was pretty cool

Tomorrow from Infineon Raceway Park in Sanoma, CA.. its at 2:30 ET, not 6 lol

"Smoke" gets his 1st win of the season

top 5 from Infineon Raceway:
1. #20 Tony Stewart
2. #21 Ricky Rudd
3. #97 Kurt Busch
4 # 2 Rusty Wallace
5. #88 Dale Jarrett

I didn't realise Rudd was such the road ace there

tons of guys had transmission problems.. all 4 hendrick cars, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Robby Gordon , and 1 or 2 others

Boris Said was doing well but tried to take advantage of the complicated " being in the pits when the yellow comes out is good" deal at road courses.. but the yellow came right before he came into the pits, hence closing them and giving him a penalty. He finished 17th.

Scott Pruett was up there too, but kinda got blackballed with how the pit sequences worked, and finished 31st

the best road ringer of the day was Ron Fellows with an 8th place finish, after getitng a 2nd place in his class at the 24 hours of Le Mans last week. Brian Simo did well too with a 10th place finish

(can you guys tell I like the road ringer guys? lol)

Doesn't look good for Jr, he finished 42nd this week, and has a lot to make up to make the Chase for the Cup. Jeff Gordon would not be in either if it started today.

Next week, its back to Daytona, I beleive its a saturday night race.. You will see Boris Said have a go at that one too, along with 5 or 6 other road races this year.

Fox/FX coverage is indeed over for the year, so it goes to NBC/TNT now

well after a looong wait.. as there was no Green Flag racing until ALmost 11 ET because of rain.. Smoke went on to lead a ton of laps, and win his 2nd race in a row.

1. #20 Tony Stewart
2. #42 Jamie McMurray
3. # 8 Dale Earnhardt Jr.
4 . # 2 Rusty Wallace
5. #88 Dale Jarrett

Jimmie Johnson is the new points leader

Todd Bodine won the Truck race in Kansas

Ferndo Alanzo won the French Grand Prix... was a rather dull race actually, too much distance between 1st, 2nd (Räikkönen), 3rd (M. Schumacher)

Michelin has taken it upon themselves to refund the money of the ones who went to see the US GP.. and plans on giving away 20,000 seats next year. Quite the gesture. There is also talks of a non- Championship race with the F1 drivers after the season ends in October

Next week: NASCAR is in Chicago, F1 has the Brittish Grand Prix

Truck race winner from Kentucky was Dennis Setzer, Busch Series winner from Chicago was Kevin Harvick .. the Cup race coverage on NBC starts around 3ET.ofcourse the actual race will start a good half hour atleast after that

English Grand Prix winner was Pablo Montoya

the FIA had found the 7 teams that pulled out of the USGP guilty of failing to provide suitable tires and "wrongfully"refusing to allow their cars to start in the race..any punishments and apeals will be heard in September .

big red car... with a Number Eight on it... .. who the heck is that guy?... yep he finally won one

1. # 8 Dale Earnhardt Jr.
2. # 17 Matt Kenseth
3. # 48 Jimmie Johnson
4. # 25 Brian Vickers
5. # 20 Tony Stewart

Smoke came back from a bad wreck during practice, and having to start the race in dead last, to take 5th.

Scott Wimmer had the lead with around 10 laps to gom, but finished 17th

David Stremme had his 1st ever NEXTEL cup start, and ran in the top 10 for quite a while, finished 16th

Formula one isnt the only one with tire problems.. Stewart during that Practice, Gordon, Edwards, Kahne, Waltrip.. Johnson worked his way up back to 4th after he had to head to the pits becaause of a tire being down.. 8 races left until the "Chase"... Edwards and Jarrett are now on the outside looking in

Next week.. Loudon, New Hampshire
