the_rev Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 (edited) I want to write a book. Publish it even! LOL! Maybe a 100 Page book, nothing much. Here are the plot lines: Mary, the Mother of God- Mary the mother of God is appearing to three children in a small town in the United States. She has predicted many events that will occur if a good Catholic President isn't elected. A Priest's murder and trial of the murderer- Fr. Jim Herfer was shot in the heart, the killer stated that as Mary's heart was pierced, he did that to Fr. Jim, pierced his heart with a bullet. What will Paul, the killer get, Life or Death, with the Bishop or Pope intervene? A young person discerning the priesthood/religious life- Bert Dobler is discerning a call to the priesthood. He goes through many struggles in life. Will he become a priest, that he has desired all of his life? A dog winning the nobel peace prize- Pope Paulus the 2nd recently was shot, and a stray dog saved his life by summoning help. Will the Pope's suggestion of the dog winning the Nobel Peace prize work, will the dog become a member of the Vatican? Edited March 27, 2005 by the_rev
ForHimAlone Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I think it would be most interesting to read about a journey of discernment. That would be something you could really put a lot of your own personality into, as well, and maybe even incorporate some of your own experiences. Let us know how it goes!
geetarplayer Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I voted for the third one... Make sure you do a lot of research! -Mark
the_rev Posted March 27, 2005 Author Posted March 27, 2005 I will. If you vote for the third tell me what order the person should be discerning.
ForHimAlone Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 <----- CISTERCIANS!!! (see avatar) Maybe go with a young man discerning the diocesan priesthood. That would probably be dearest to your heart, right?
geetarplayer Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Honestly, I don't know much about the different orders.
MichaelFilo Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Other. I say write about a modern saint. I wrote a poem about a saint (5 pages) and my class sat in awe as I talked. He wasn't an actual saint, I guess an imaginary one. And as you know, the_rev, this is a public school. Discernment sounds like a close second. God bless, Mikey

But I don't know enough about the different orders either to give any input about that. God bless and the best of luck with your writing! Make sure to keep us updated on how its all going!
MichaelFilo Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 -_- Share it... uhhh... it was a rush job... a very good rush job, but I think it's only because I pulled a taboo course of action @ my school. I was religious  which kept their attention more than anything else.
sweetpea316 Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Ah, I gotcha. But, more power to ya! That's great that you wrote and talked about something that is related to religion...especially that. God bless!
sweetpea316 Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 I like that idea... I was talking to someone about the Carmelites tonight actually! I didn't know anything about them, but it is very interesting, and an awesome group! So yeah, that would be a good idea to look into.
disturbedxfairy Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 i voted for the priest murder one. but i also think that a cool book (something that i would definitely read) would be a priest's journey through a trial of someone that confessed murder to that priest. does that make sense? it did in my head...

[/quote] ^^^That's like "I Confess" by Hitchcock I picked the third one. It's one in which you can write from the heart.
