kateri05 Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 guess what came from the diocese today? a letter from the cardinal, a pamphlet on "how a pope is chosen" and the procedurse and liturgies for the death of the pope and the election of a new pope. i seriously almost burst into tears right in the middle of the parish office its an intelligent thing for the office of worship to have done but it doesn't make it any less sad and depressing. St. Jude pray for us and the Holy Father!!!!!
Brother Adam Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 The death of the pope will be a black day for the FUS campus.
kateri05 Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 it will be a black day worldwide.... oh Papa, we love you
LiL Kat Said Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 he'll be in a much better place but it's still sad.
RemnantRules Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Why are you all talking about as if he's dead! He's doing ok, yess his physical attributes are leaving but his mental and leadership is still as strong as it was 25 years ago! Please let us keep him in present context and not be so mournful why he's still here. PLUS, He wouldn't want that, we all know this. ok I'll stop. Thanks and God Bless
kateri05 Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 i wasn't mourning him YET. its just the fact that the procedures coming made it hit home how ill he really is. of course it wasn't impunging on his ability, mentally, to lead. like st. paul said: the spirit is willing but the body is weak.
Ash Wednesday Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 I don't think anyone was writing off the pope as much as it is the thought of losing him makes us sad.
Thy Geekdom Come Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005
he can't live forever
Sure he can...he just has to die first...unless Christ comes first...
musturde Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005
he can't live forever
lol. I can see what your trying to say but we're way past the whole "we wish he lived for ever" phase. We're moving on to the general mourning stage.
Aloysius Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 living forever, we did that before the fall> but was that part of our perfect natural state or the supernatural elevation of our natural state by God? cause we fell completely from the supernatural elevation and down from the perfect natural state... and then with baptism we've been supernaturally elevated again.. it would seem the only reason we don't live forever then is that we are still in a fallen natural state! AHA! So it is part of the natural state of humanity to live forever! :end random thought:
