popes

I was wondering where do we get a pope to lead the Catholics of the world. I know that Jesus gave Peter the keys and he shall build his church upon the rock but how do we get the pope out of it.

We just saw how we get a Pope. The Cardinals go into conclave (which means with keys), and choose the Successor to Peter with the Holy Spirit guiding them.

It is really simple and not hard to figure out. Christ called Peter. He still does that. Christ is the Head of the Church and we are the Body. The leaders of the Church choose from the body (ususally one of their own) to be the Successor. There is a bit of secrecy to the particulars, but then again, the particulars are not really all that important. All we need to be concerned with is that the Holy Spirit is involved and that Christ is present in the choosing.
