i just stumbled upon this blog today...it's a very moving, sad, funny, and heartbreaking site....
PostSecret is an ongoing community art project. People from around the world share their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard.
Warning, this is a site with strong language and images (it's not pornography), so be forewarned.

Here are some examples of some postcards that have been sent in:

That's a really interesting project... I kinda want to send one in. It gives all these people a community and a place to get this off their chest. It was moving and honest and beautiful....

did you see one of the comments toward the bottom?
"I'll be a priest in four months, and this will be the sort of stuff that I get to hear on a regular basis during confessions. Funny and heartbreaking are apt descriptions."

This is a fascinating project. Thank you for sharing lil Red. Some made me giggle (like the toe shaving and the dog turds) But many just made me so very sad and sick to my stomach. To think that our Lord hears these cries every day.

Perhaps we should be careful about this link with our younger phatmassers?

I couldn't help shedding a few tears while reading those postcards. :sadder:

Mankind so desperately aches for God. Sin brings nothing but pain and misery. I tremble, pondering how much Jesus longs to hold these people to Himself and wipe their tears and sins away. I wish I could go to each person and share with them God's Love somehow.

Pray...Jesus is the answer to all our problems...Pray...

SOmetimes I don't like being a critical artist... I never look at purely emotion weight, but firstly at all the technicalities, and I rarely put emotion into art works...
I even look at things for their aestetics rather than the emotional weight first...
blech... feeling kinda carpy now, don't mind me...

I think that could be a good project...if there wasn't so much hatred, despair, cartoon pornography...

it breaks my heart yet part of me sees it as beautiful to see the true inner feelings of people. May God grant them peace and serenity.

i agree...that's why i think the postcard that says "i miss feeling close to God" sums up a lot of it for me....

antonius, i did post a warning with my original post that there was strong language and images there....

i disagree...i think that's part of what makes this such an original project is because it's real feelings and real emotions and real things we hear...if the person who started this, started to edit the things people sent in, it would cease to be authentic....and i think that seeing some of these postcards makes us think a little more, and pray more too ;)
