ThomasPeter Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 hello, i once was told (by my dad) that st. Joseph was the true King at the time of Jesus's birth. and that Herod was "illegally" is his place. inother words, because of Joseph's family line, he was really the king; though in exile so to speak. this would also, as i have heard and think, explain why Christ would have waited until after Joseph's death to begin his reign; because the son has to wait until his King father is dead before he becomes king. so, is this true? thanks! tom
Pontifex Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 In all my years of theological study I have never heard anything like this. It is interesting, but not probable.
