One of the surprise guests at the event was Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill. He ended up being one of the highlights of the presentation as he enthusiastically recalled humorous anecdotes about the making of the original films, working with Kevin Smith, seeing TROOPS for the first time, and more. However, his comments towards the end about Episodes 7, 8, and 9 really got everyone's attention. Mark told those in attendance what Lucas told him the third trilogy would be about. Hamill also went into detail about Lucas' original plans for those films, when they would be made, and more. Plus, Lucasfilm's Jim Ward confirmed that a "Star Wars" TV series is on the way in the near future (though he didn't say when it would be set). We thought you might like to hear Mark Hamill's comments in his own voice. Simply download this 5 minute MP3 file and enjoy! It's only 2 MB in size: MARK HAMILL TALKS STAR WARS EPISODES 7, 8, & 9
God Conquers Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Hey! That's Spaceballs 2: the Search for More Money!
Winchester Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Actually, the Star Wars saga is about the choice between good and evil and the cyclic nature of Lucas's mythology.
Paladin D Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 (edited)
Now why would he just make that up, eh?
Now why would George Lucas and the rest of the staff at Lucasfilm lie? Btw, the live-action TV series will take place between Episodes 3 and 4, not 7, 8, and 9; this was said right out of Lucas' mouth at Celebration 3. Not to mention, Lucas has repeatedly denied that a 3rd trilogy will be made. He's spent 30 years of his life with Star Wars, he wants to move on to other things (he's said this more than once). There is no doubt Lucas may have thought about what the 3rd trilogy would be about, if he made it. But this isn't an indication that it will actually come about. If you want to read the 3rd trilogy, then read the New Jedi Order book series. Note: If Hammill's statements held any water, this would be a widespread debate in Star Wars communities everywhere, especially on TFN.net. EDIT: For those who are interested = Life after ROTS, what will happen next Edited May 26, 2005 by Paladin D
FightingforGod Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005
Lucas should be banned from screenwriting....FOREVER. And from directing.
Traitors itd be cool if he did make more of the series, but im afraid that they would be ruined by being overdone. u really can have too much of a good thing. just a thought:i kept thinking through Episode III that maybe Ani wasnt the chosen one, maybe Luke really was...i dunno, just a really random thought
Carnanc Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 a TV show might be a better for the rest of the story.
Laudate_Dominum Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I've lately been thinking of cool plots that could be used for future Star Wars movies. Some take place before episode I, others after edisode VI. It would be funny if they got some of the original actors to play the original characters. I've always wondered, do wookies turn grey when they are old? hehe

I like some of the pre episode I stuff too. The old republic and all that. I wanna see a movie with tons of Jedi masters running around kicking butt.
PadreSantiago Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 I hear kevin smith is going to involved in the new star wars show as a writer/director, if any of you have seen his movies there's always at least one star wars rant in there. That dude actually got married at the skywalker ranch, now that's a nerd....
Nathan Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 You forgot to say that George W. Bush is evil and the Iraq war is a crime against humanity, Padre. You're slipping, pal!
Lounge Daddy Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 ya - i dont believe there will be a SW 789 there have been rumours for 20 years about that, though there WILL be a TV series... Kevin is to do a few episodes story arc --- he confirmed it at his website the stories are supposed to take place between eps 3 and 4 but i can see them getting into post ep6 material after a few seasons. that would be interesting... or they could really screw it up via over-kill like what happened to StarTrek in which case they should just stick to the novels
The Joey-O Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Hmm....I heard a 7, 8 and 9 rumor from a guy who's an uber Star Wars geek. I know this is just hearsay, but I trust his opinions on this matter and this matter alone.

So far, there is absolutely no word from Lucasfilm that they will be doing Episodes 7, 8, and 9. They're currently focusing on the two new TV series (one CGI, the other live-action).
