Ash Wednesday Posted May 31, 2005 Author Posted May 31, 2005 Thanks Luciana. My taking time out to think and us talking this through may very well save our relationship in the end. I feel really bad for even bringing up whatever faith flaws I worry he might have, because in reality I think it could be my scruples, so please keep that in mind. I've been horribly attacked by anxiety attacks over the weekend, especially today, the worst in a long time. So I would appreciate everyone's prayers. Sorry to spout so much "personal" stuff but I guess I needed the outlet.
journeyman Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I've always like Immaculata's signature line A woman should hide her heart in the heart of God so a man must go there to find it.
Mickey's_Girl Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Whoa! All the drama that went down since I was last online! Poor Ash. Sounds like your guy is a smart one, and that you're having a tough time. Your life sounds ultra-stressed right now! Stop beating yourself up with worries, and just let things go for a bit. I'm definitely praying for you. MG
Ash Wednesday Posted May 31, 2005 Author Posted May 31, 2005 Already asked God about that one. Mick said it best... to not worry and just let things go for a while. I won't be offended if someone chooses to delete this thread. Enough of the loopy Ash show.
Carrie Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Ash, taking a break sounds like the right idea. You can take some time to think and sort things through. Relationships can be incredibly hard, I know. Try not to stress out too much though. Being over stressed can makes things even murkier and harder to figure out. I'll be praying for you.
franciscanheart Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Being completely open with him is definitely the way to go. If you would ever consider marriage to him then you can't hold anything back. Holding back can completely break your relationship or at least put a huge strain on it until you decide to be completely open and honest, though it may not seem to be a problem until you do. If y'all have been together for three years then he obviously cares very much for you and would love to help you through your scruples. I'm sure he wants to be there with you through it all since all of the struggle only brings you two closer together. I'd also say that it would help you a great deal to always share these things with him, even if you feel you're being irrational, because if you truly are then he can help you see that and calm your fears which is one of the best feelings in the world. Just my $.02
dUSt Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I think you should marry him right away. What if he hits the lottery tomorrow? You'd miss out on 1/2 of all that money. I say marry the guy... and quick!
