Dj 86 Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I saw him preach not too long ago on tv. Alot about how GOD wants us to have nice things and such. Gave shout out's to Creflo Dollar. I never really listened to much of his music. I mostly remember him from those songs from the late 90's with Puff Daddy..or P-Diddy/Puffy..whatever he calls himself now. I guess if you get down with "prosperity preachers", rapping about a lavish lifestyle would fit their message. I'm not too sure what his ministry is all about, but that's what I got from it.

Guest Eremite Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 My opinion of Mase can be summed up in one smilie: :noidea:
Guest Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 1 Timothy 6:3-10 NIV If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

On a side note......I respect him for speaking out about his faith in Christ. He has taken alot of heat from other rappers because of it. Edited June 14, 2005 by Dj 86

mulls Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 i read his book 'revelations' where he stated that he would never go back to the rap game. then when he came back and people questioned him, he dodged the questions. it seems like he just owes puffy a few more records, and puffy's calling him in for work. i also heard that his next record will be more 'gospel' oriented, while the last one was more of a secular banger just to make money and re-introduce himself. mostly hearsay though.
mulls Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 but also in the book he talked about having a vision for a church where Jay-Z was the worship director, Nas was the head usher and DMX led the prison ministry. that would be suttin to see.

Guest Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 What about those folk who think there might be a contradiction between Mase, the brother that's saved and Mase the brother that's in hip hop? Some might say, that when you look at some of the stuff in hip hop, it seems like a contradiction, that a brother whose serious about his religion, would be involved in hip hop. I'm not a part of religion — religion is a bunch of laws and a bunch of man made statements, telling people what they can and cannot do. I have a personal relationship with my heavenly father and I believe that Jesus Christ died for all of my sins and that he is my lord and savior. And he's given me a mission, which is simply, to go out and compel people to come into his house. This is what Christianity is all about. We're supposed to go out and convince people of why they should come in.

Guest Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 50 also confirmed what we heard on "300 Shots": The new Mase music is going to sound like the old Mase music — the real old Mase music, pre-Bad Boy, when he was named Mase Murda (or Murder Mase). "Mase, with a little Murda," is the way Fif described the music being made by the reverend, who raps about leaving a hole in a man's chest on "300 Shots." ("Put guns in n---as' mouths like, 'Who you dissing?'/ Be a year before they know you was missing/ I pop n---as in the chest, they never breathe again.") from mtvnews......
