Chastity issue/arrousal

heres the deal:
I have no problems with porn masturbation fornication any of that bad stuff- i have no struggles with it its not a problem for me. Id never do it. period.

the thing i have trouble with is maybe getting into the gray zone- where its not so clear as to what exactly is a sin and if it is is it mortal or veinal. Its really hard for me to determine if being aroused is a sin when i am aroused. I dont go out seeking arousal- i know thats a sin and i wouldnt need to go out- i have a computer. but its like getting aroused for some of the lamest most stupidest things that i dont even get why it happens. somebody might say something and its not even like sexual it might not even have to do with sex at all- ussually doesnt. or like today- its 1 week til we graduate and already the girls are getting emotional
so i mean they are all givin everyone hugs and all and i musta been hugged more today that all year and its not that i get really aroused when i give someone a hug- its quick hug and not bad or anything- but maybe after wards or i might think uf something that i really dont wanna but it just happens. all day i had this one girl who i know used to like me but then told me she doesnt like me like last week- all day shes hugging me and telling me she loves me- sometimes just the way a girl might say that like that gets you going and its like i dont want to i hate it but i cant do anything about it and nothing is consitant its not like every single time so and so does this- bam = arousal- no its sporradic it might be something or this its really hard to explain. idk i feel bad about it for some reason though- maybe my hormones are playing games with me or im being way too over scrupulous- idk thats why im asking you guys

It's not your fault. It is a demon known as testosterone. What you're going through is normal. In fact, for teenage boys, erections for no reason at all are quite common. I'm sorry it's such a struggle.

No, you're being scrupulous. Don't worry. You have to be doing something willingly in order to sin, and having a physical/chemical reaction to something is not willful.

There's a rule for the scrupulous, written by St. Alphonsus Ligouri: if you're not absolutely, clearly, completely sure it's a sin, don't confess it. If you can't swear before the throne of God that you know it was a sin, don't confess it or worry about it.

yea man for guys we are at our sexual peak at 18, which makes it the easiest time of our life to get aroused...women don't peak until their 30's!! girl's always wonder why guys struggle more lol. stay strong, i've found that saying a prayer like hail mary or a sporadic prayer for purity has always worked for me

yeah, the thoughts aren't necessarilly wrong. unless you are purposefully entertaining them and what you may do to act upon them. but i wouldn't sweat it too much. just pray to st joseph for purity! i'll throw some prayers your way as well, if you'd be so kind to do the same for me

From a woman's point of view, it's nothing to worry about; however, if you tend to dwell on it too long, it may lead you to sin. It doesn't sound like it would happen because you are being careful, it's a temptation that you need to deal with in your own way. Also whoever pointed out that the sexual peak for men is 18 is correct, so hormonally you are fine, I guess.

Anyways hang in there. I know that it is hard and thoughts creep in but remember to say the name of Jesus over and over. He will chase them away

Also I have to disagree with the statement women sweat less. Although that is the general trend it depends on the woman too. I mean if a woman has a higher metabolism then she is going to sweat like a man. The reason that men sweat more is because they generate more heat and thus need to get rid of it.
