Hi Frank, my situation is very similar to yours. I'm close to your age (a lady doesn't tell :D: ) and I have three children as well. However, my husband is not converting. My mother told me that the Catholic Church exercises mind control over their people. Isn't that funny? Last night we had dinner with my sister-in-law (a Baptist) who was talking about somebody's wedding where there was a lot of alcohol. She assumed that meant the person was Catholic. Where does this stuff come from? I never realized how much anti-Catholic sentiment was out there among Protestants until I decided to convert.

I happened to be reading I Peter yesterday and the passages that talk about suffering for your faith really resonated with me. "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you."

When I enter the Church, I will be the only Catholic in my entire family, and the only one in my husband's family. I'm fastening my seat belt for the bumpy ride...but Jesus is more than worth it!

What a great and inspiring entry.... ^_^

That verse is exactly what I needed to hear right now. It's been rather difficult for me because of my very Protestant family, but that was very encouraging...thanks! I don't ever like doing things the easy way anyways! :D:

And what you said about mind control...heh, reminds me of what someone at work said yesterday. He was talking about Christianity in general and how he now dislikes it all because once he came to college, he learned how to think for himself. Whatever. I gave him a funny look and he could tell I didn't agree...but we respect each other's opinions. Little does he know, I'm praying for him. ;)

Wow, I got way off topic. Sorry! :)

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. This past weekend I enrolled into RCIA classes and I'm really exited to get started. As for my Protestant family I pray daily for them and ask the Holy Spirit to use me and guide me through these difficult times
