Donna
What about "Fawlty Towers" or "Yes, Prime Minister"? Anyway, I'd like some feedback for the guy who doesn't drink and doesn't like sports. Also, for the arty quiet guy who is eccentric and hard to know what he'd like. There's a fair amt of these in my travels. Should I just punt (when gift-situations come up) and get some of these basics (which I already think everyone would like), such as great slippers, longe wear, and of course cold drink...but what if they don't drink? I know a few recovering alk's. Maybe they'd look more kindly on recovery with a great mug? Any ideas? Thx.

The first almost describes Matthew (he drinks occasionally but not enough to give him alcohol as a gift, not into sports at all unles its a family soccer game). I nearly always end up resorting to books, sometimes clothing. DVDs are another option, I suppose, but sometimes that's difficult, too. I got him a movie for Christmas and when he found out it had come out on DVD he went and got it for himself before Christmas! We wound up giving the copy I had bought to his younger brothers. I guess one should also add onto the list "What do you get for the guy who buys himself whatever he wants (thus leaving you with nothing to get him)?" Guest T-Bone
A steak that is laid on a hot grill (or pan), and cooked untill the blood just starts to weep on the surface, flipped over for 45 seconds, and then served.
