Brother Adam Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Alex Munter, national spokesman for Canadians for Equal Marriage (search), which has led the debate in favor of the law, was triumphant after the vote: "The genius of Canada, almost unparalleled in the world, is built on shared identity, out of respect for each other." Munter, a Roman Catholic, has said that despite anyone's personal beliefs, all Canadians should be granted the same rights to marriage.
Guest JeffCR07 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I think that, despite their political leanings, anyone who persistently and obstinantly defies the teaching of the Church should be granted the right of excommunication.
CanCath Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I REALLY don't like your title by the way.... Munter is VERY far from being a Roman Catholic. Can you believe some elected official also said, "I have not compromised my faith, I have embraced it". PUKE!!!
Dudette Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 yeah, I don't like the title either. bah. *mutters* this carp that's been happening in Canada is driving me insane.

Admit it, you're jealous... gna gna gna! Actually, I read a brief article some months ago commenting on immigrants from the US to Canada and how a high percentage of them wehre homosexual. They immigrated to Canada because of open views and tolerance and the 'diversity' of the nation. Like sending us your environmental pollution wasn't enough, you have to dump your moral pollution as well! SFD!!!! I feel a n anti-US rant coming... its brewing... its brewing...

Despite anyone's personal beliefs, all Canadians should be granted the right to... marry more than one person. marry an animal. marry a child. marry an inanimant object. marry themselvs. marry a sibling. marry a parent. marry an uncle. marry anything/anyone they choose.
MilesChristi Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Well, if society continues its current trend, I wouldn't be too surprised if most of your list is legalized within the next 50 years or so. homosexual "marriage" - now spreading throughout the Western world. polygamy - coming soon incest and the rest - shortly thereafter
Didacus Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 The really sad picture is whe nyou mix homosexual weddings with polygamy. Imagine 5 guys married to 5 girls! Divorce lawyers are gong to make a kiling out of this!
Guest T-Bone Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 I just want to marry my car...think of the tax benifits...

crusader1234 Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 I personally would prefer if NO marriage were legally sanctioned. Marriage should involve just the couple and the Church, not the state.
