I like my beloved Jen-->J'aime ma chere Jen.
I like my girlfriend Jen -->J'aime ma petite amie Jen.

I use to be fluent in French when I was at the age of 6, after that English took over.

I like my girlfriend Jen -->J'aime ma copine Jen.

Fixed that for you.

It is proper to both, though 'copine' is a term seldom used outside of France and Quebec. In Northern Ontario someone would refer to copine as 'ma blonde'. Word for word that means 'my blond'... I guess every man had one like that in the past?

French in Northern Ontario has a particular note of English influence, the mixing of french and English in the same sentence is very common.

Quebec holds strong onto its singuistic heritage, but the province often comes very close to racism towards the english language. The history between the french and the english between Ontaro and Quebec is not a pretty; the remorse and the grudges are abundant - especially on the french side. This 'war' was and continues to be a very pationate one since it is also fuelled by the religious aspect, since french are predominantly catholique, and the english are predominently protestant.
