FutureSoror Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I started the first one a while back and never finished it. I guess I didn't give it much of a chance, but it didn't grab me, which is wierd because usually I'm in love with those kind of books. I think it might have something to do with the mice being monks... just kinda threw me.
shortysportychick Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 ya i didnt get it the first time i read it
Smile_Jesus_loves_you Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 I don't think of them so much as "monks" cause well they live in a whole other world so not like real monks plus there animals. you've got to look at from the sense that they just peace loving animals with a sence of graditude to a creator they know is out there and so they seek to help others out of graditude. There animals so you've got to look on the bright side.
raptor13 Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 i used to read them almost religiously when i was back in elementary and middle school. i loved how there is such a sense of history and detail in the books. in one book, there might be a mention of some ancient hero on a painting on a wall, and in the next, he's the main character! sometimes i would get really sad when i'd get to the next book and read that the young ones in the book before are either dead or really old. it was like learning one of your friends had died. anyways, i think i've outgrown them now. the last one i've read was taggerung. they're great, but after a while, the storyline seems repetitive.
