It is a purity ring. I am in the begining process of deciding to Convert to Catholicism. While doing so i have decided that i would give up something that i before didnt know was sinful but just recently discovered. I was ashamed that i had been sinning all this time by fornicating (sex before marriage). I decided i would wear this purity ring till married and along with wearing the ring i will also stay pure from the day its put on to the day a new ring takes its place. I plan to get it blessed by a priest once i have finished converting to the Cathelic Religion. I also plan to go to my first confession and tell of all my sins 1st and formost being my fornication and my promise to never do such a thing again. Im sure it will be a pretty lengthy confession seeing that i have been without the lord for almost 15 years (i consider the first 5 yrs of life always with the lord) Peace to you all Sean

She seems to have the attitude that she's beyond help but we know it is never too late to change our lives no matter what we have done in our past. It is the grace of God that makes us reborn and white as snow!

LOL i wear it on the right hand now lol
photosynthesis Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 I never owned a purity ring, but I did once wear my school's ring on my left hand during finals week. it was supposed to remind me that i had no time to do anything else except study and that for 3 weeks i was to be "married" to schoolwork. maybe this is why i'm not going to grad school... i think school and i went too fast in our relationship and burned out freshman year

There are lots of us there who are over 20, it's ok....The Resistance is for those who struggle with sexual purity (and other sins too). We support each other through prayer etc. Definitely stick around! Welcome Home as well! I hope you ask any and all questions you have about the Church. There are lots 'o smart folks round these here parts!

I, too, wear a chastity ring on the ring finger of my left hand. It serves as a great reminder for not only what we have promised, but why and to WHO we have promised it! I decided to start the topic late last night and i thought i might check to see if anyone had written and was quite impressed with the number haha. Thank you all very much. In times like the ones we are in now, it seems that no one is very close to god and that they have not found the way. It is very sad to think how distan the world has got from the Lord. I hope more people find there way as i have. Thanks be to God. Ever since I heard my first chastity talk 5 years ago (!!!!!) this weekend I've been thinking about wearing one. Just haven't done it!! (I'm slow at times!) But I do think it's a wonderful idea....and now you've gotten me thinking about it again and I think I'll have to go see what I can do about purchasing one!! (Although I'm afraid that if I wore it on my left ring finger people would think I'm married.....and since I'm not.....and since I'm "looking" for my spouse.....I don't want to scare someone away by thinking that I'm "taken" when I'm really not!! ) ~Jen
