Fidei Defensor Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 I was thinking about this, and i just thought it would be interesting to ask. If Papa's home was under attack, and he asked for help, would you go to his aid?
Guest Eremite Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 No doubt. Although there would be logistical problems. Where would we stay? It's not like Vatican City is capable of quartering thousands of Catholic military volunteers.

The first choice doesn't say you certainly would. It says you would, assuming you could. The second choice says I can't, but I would if I could. If the assuming I could qualifier was removed from the first statement, then indeed these two poll choices would be different.
photosynthesis Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 I would, but I don't know why Papa would want me to fight anyway. I'd be like a big fighting MARSHMALLOW. plus I'm female and fighting's just not what my body was built for.

Philippe Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 i doubt i could but i would gladly give my life and i would really want to go
ReinnieR Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 I would if i could but i can't i'd have to burn leave for that. or do i? i don't know if that would be a permissive TDY (temporary duty). put me in for a maybe i

I thought of this, too. I would do whatever he asked -- like fight, but if he told me that this wasn't my right role (especially if I was a mother to children) and he asked me stay on the homefront, I would do that. And be his prayer warrior instead.
MilesChristi Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 If the Holy Father asked for help, I would answer the call.
Don John of Austria Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005
Lead the way!
Precious few answered it last time he called les sthan 4000 as I remember. But yes I would go if he where attacked even if he didn't call.

but rome is! we could win the lands belonging to the papacy from hundreds of years ago! i'd go Rome by any means necessary, i'd get a sword and an assault rifle and a desert eagle. Maybe the knights of malta would accept non-nobility/rich ppl and start arming them tp bring back the militaristic monastic orders!
Lounge Daddy Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I find the thought unsettling – but realistic today I would go if I could, but I believe my first responsibility it to my family and ensure their safety
