Actually, I'm here plenty too. I just don't post much because it would take too much time, and I'd wander around the house muttering as I refine arguments to myself.

If you give me a week, I might have something for you. A FOCUS missionary is giving a short class on Catholic Apologetics based on Scripture. I could've used it today. My friends and I were playing ultimate frisbee with some other guys and during halftime, the conversation turned towards faith. They were trying to say that salvation comes from faith alone, and that we as human beings do not have to go to the sacraments to receive grace. God forgive me for not having knowledge and for not making better use of the knowledge that I do have. Although, I think they were definitely confused about Catholic beliefs.

look at it this way:

a protestant's faith compels him towards a specific action (the saying of the sinner's prayer: "Lord Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and that you are my personal Lord and Savior") which he believes results in the reception of grace that puts him in right relationship w/ the Lord.

the catholic's faith compels him towards a specific action (the reception of the sacraments) which he believes results in the reception of grace that puts him in right relationship w/ the Lord.

essentially, there is little difference. when i point this out to protestants, it has occasionally aided our conversations. that is, unless they are just hell-bent on believing that catholics work for their salvation......

I kinda noticed that too. Both sides were saying that grace from God, but they differed on how to receive that grace.
