Thy Geekdom Come Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Their faith statement is completely in line with Catholic teaching.
StColette Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 They may have been taught that the Catholic Church teaches something totally different though, Micah. Sad story all the way around though

Ash Wednesday Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Wow, man, someone needs some Catholic apologetics, and ought to know that the Catholic Church is the very backbone of the pro-life movement.

Colleen Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 It must be that particular branch of the agency which has that policy. I was browsing the site and saw that there were lots of adoptive families who are Catholic. They also have a link to Project Rachel (which they acknowledge as a Catholic organization).

Was that in the article? I must have missed it...I only read the article, where it quoted the statement of faith...didn't realize the real one was longer.

It is a shame that children are starving to death because of this.
Brother Adam Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Never mind the anti-Catholicism - they are PRO-CHOICE
You have three choices: adoption, abortion, or parenting (whether as a single parent or whether you marry). In order to make the right decision for you and your baby

In fairness looking over the rest of the statement I think you are taking this statement out of context. They are being funded by "choose life" paraphenalia. It does not appear to me in doing a search for abortion information on their website that they would EVER think that abortion was the right choice. For instance: http://www.bethany.org/A55798/bethanyWWW.n...4B?OpenDocument Differences of Adoption and Abortion Adoption Abortion * Your pregnancy ends with giving life * You may feel good and positive about your choice * You will remember giving birth * You will have plenty of time to plan your and your baby's future * You can hold, name, and love your baby * You can have continued contact with your child * Your pregnancy ends with death * You may feel guilt and shame about your choice * You will remember taking a life * Abortion is final; you can’t reverse your decision * You will never know or treasure your baby * You will miss the opportunity to see your child develop I will of course not support them in the future.
