Some quotes by St. Therese of Lisieux
Lord God of armies, you said in your Gospel, ‘I came to bring not peace but a sword’.  Arm me for the struggle.  I yearn to fight for your glory, but I beg you, strengthen my courage…  (A prayer by St. Therese of Lisieux inspired by a picture of Joan of Arc)

Soldier of Christ, lend me your weapons
On behalf of sinners, here below I want
To struggle, to suffer in the shadow of your palms
Protect me, come to support my arm.
For them, by unceasing warfare,
I want to take by violence the Kingdom of God
For the Lord brought on earth
Not peace, but the Sword and Fire!

(The Poems of St. Therese of Lisieux.TO THE VENERABLE THEOPHANE VENARD, MARTYRED)

“’I want to fight for Jesus…/To win for him souls without number/ I want to love Him more and more!  (The words of St. Joan in one of Terese’s plays)
In one of Therese’s plays on St. Joan she has St. Michael say:
The day of victory is coming,
The day that will save the kingdom of the Franks.
But to God alone belongs all the glory.
To prove it, He arms the arm of a child…

“At the end, in August 1897, she [St. Therese of Lisieux] said with the defiance of a battle scarred warrior: ‘I shall die with weapons in hand.’”

“She loves war. She is by nature a fighter.”  (Balthasar’s words describing St Therese)
I got these quotes from the book, The Way of the Lamb by John Saward Pages 45-49.

St. Therese of Lisieux in the role of St. Joan of Arc

I also read something from the book that made me angry. There was someone who was atheist that converted by the intercession of Joan. St. Therese of Lisieux took pictures of herself dressed up as Joan of Arc (because she made a play about St. Joan and she played the role of Joan) and sent the picture to this person who had converted. Come to find out the person really did not convert and just made it up as a joke to make fun and mock Catholics. :realmad:
