hi everyone. i'm finally back at work. i just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and support. i went to the ob/gyn on wednesday (july 6th) to find out what was going on with me, and i had a positive pregnancy test. very happy and surprised! then went back the next day for an ultrasound, to see how far along i was. the doctor couldn't find anything on the ultrasound, so she prepared me that i might have a miscarriage. later that day i started cramping, then i started bleeding later that night. was in pain all thursday night and friday, saturday i started to feel better so i went home (i was at my sister's). couldn't sleep at all on saturday, went to bed at 5am sunday, woke up at 9am with severe cramping. ended up having to go to the hospital, where i was stuck with a humungous needle for an iv. didn't have to be admitted, so that's good. so, all last week i basically laid in bed.

i still ask for continued prayers because i am still doing bloodwork to make sure my hormone levels are going down the way they should, if not, then i will likely need to have surgery.

physically, i am doing fine. but mentally, emotionally, spiritually, i am devasted. my hubby said, "i didn't realize how excited i was about being a daddy until we got pregnant." and then we lost the baby. in my heart, i think that it was going to be a girl, because i found out on st. maria goretti's feast day. kinda God's way of giving me a heads up. i'm still very hurt and angry and depressed.

anyway, just wanted to thank you all for your prayers. -_-

the worst thing about this is that my hubby has been out of town for the entire thing. when i really needed him, he couldn't be here. i know that he wanted to, but when he gets home, i think i'll just hug him for about ten minutes straight.

Jess,

Tony just let me know what was going on. I will remember you and your family in my daily angelus. That is so beautiful about St. Maria Goretti, I'm sure SMG greeted her.

Love ya! Veni Sancte Spiritu...

one thing that bugged me while i was in the ("Catholic") hospital...i asked for a priest (and i specifically said priest, not pastor), and a woman chaplain showed up! i was like, excuse me, (worst case scenario), what if i was dying??? that woman can't give me last rites!!! :irate: :irate:

she said she was the "spiritual counselor" on call. and if i wasn't feeling so horribly, i would've given them heck for sending her.

Oh wow, that really is lame. :irate: They didn't even offer an explanation, like if a priest wasn't available? It's your health care, you deserve at least that much.

*Imagines self someday in hospital, saying with big wiggly lips: "I want to see a KAA-THOH-LICK PREEEST"*
