homeschoolmom Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Okay... so... I'm taking my 9 year old daughter to the doctor today to have him look at a mole on her back. She is very easily freaked out and if they have to remove it, I think she will probably have a coniption. Also, I couldn't find anyone to watch my two boys (ages 6 and nearly 2) so I have to bring them with me. So, it should be exciting, to say the least. Our appointment is at 1:15...
homeschoolmom Posted July 19, 2005 Author Posted July 19, 2005 Good news... I found someone to watch my sons. So, now I can hold my histerical daughter...
lifeteenchick527 Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 prayers... good luck with everything God Bless LTC :hearts:
thessalonian Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Jesus help bring peace to HSM's situation. Give her daughter calm and help the two boys to to not start wrestling in the middle of the waiting room or clobber eachother with a toy. Been there.
cmotherofpirl Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 In such situations, all parenting rules go out the door. Bribe her.
Christie_M Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 yes..."I'll give you a candy if you don't freak out TOO much"... sometimes I ask my dad if I'll live... Prayers!
Lil Red Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 i'm glad you found someone to watch the boys. i'll be asking Mother Mary to come and comfort your daughter.
IcePrincessKRS Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 I'm praying for you. I know you're a couple hours behind us, so you're probably already there or leaving soon. I'm sending some special prayers right now!
homeschoolmom Posted July 19, 2005 Author Posted July 19, 2005 Wow! Thanks for all the prayers, everyone. I dropped off the boys and that went nice and smooth. Then we headed over to the doctor. And she cried a little bit on the way over. She has such an active imagination that she was about four worries ahead of the game. "Honey, let's just let him take a look at it before we start picking out hospital gowns, shall we?" Got in and waited... and waited... So, I'm trying to distract her with conversation... and finally started talking about this:Izzy's Ice Cream (yep, I bribe only rarely and this was a moment to pull out the big guns) but I didn't even get the chance to offer it when the doctor came in. He remineced about the other times she'd been in since her five year old check up... the time that she got hit in the eye while playing "Golf Baseball"... the chicken pox etc... And then he had a look. He said that he could tell it had been irritated and that had cause some scar tissue, but it had no signs of anything abnormal. He said to keep an eye on it and they'd look at it again at her next check up. He said trading in a mole for a scar wasn't necessarily a good trade-- expecially since she's still growing a lot. So that's it. Nothing. Not even Izzy's....
