Didacus Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 A great actor, a good man. We will remember Scotty. A moment of silence for James Doohan - please. Now a moment of silence for Gene R. - please thank you ________________ On another note, I did not know he had fougt in WWII D-day no less!
The Canadian-born Doohan fought in World War II and was wounded during the D-Day invasion, according to the StarTrek.com Web site.
(I also like that quote from the artcile because it does say CANADIAN BORN!) rest in peace James... Pax Christi.
Oik Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I was watching trekkies the other night. He told a story about how this girl sent him a suicide letter in the mail and he sent here a letter back and invited her to convention after convention so she wouldn't commit suicide. She showed at everyone of them. Eventually she stopped going, but eight years later, sent him a letter telling him thatshe got a MA and got married. She also thanked him for helping her through a hard time in her life.
