DannyBoy Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I guess my topic title and description say it all. I want a flag too!!!
Noel's angel Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 im guessing u mean the flag under peoples names. They symbolise 'Church Faithful' and to get one u have to be put forward by other Church Faithfuls who see you has having demonstarted faithfulness to the Church...

This is exactly what i want to know. I think you can fly one like normal. My problem is getting one. Since i am only 15, i have no credit card to order one via internet. my parents dont have a credit card as of now because of divorce stuff.. I really want one though.
qfnol31 Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Just like Texas, since it is a real country you may fly it at height with the American flag, and no matter who you are, it deserves as much dignity.
Aloysius Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 they'd probably get mad if you flew it HIGHER than the American flag right? I don't care I'll do it anyway, but just for my information I'd technically be breaking some sorts of regulations right?

ReinnieR Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005
except the Vatican is above all other nations.
why? becuase the nation is 100% catholic. and us catholics are better than everybody else???
Aloysius Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 because its ruler is also the Vicar of Christ on earth I'm sorry, now I supported GWBush and all...but he's got NOTHING on that
Fidei Defensor Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 "Sir, you cant fly that Vatican flag higher than the American flag" "Oh really? Well it just so happens that the leader of my country is also the Vicar of Christ on earth, and the chief pastor of all christians." "err.. okay. Sorry to bother you. carry on"
Dreamweaver Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Well, if you can't buy a Vatican City flag, you could always try sewing one. (yes, my crafty side is starting to come out, I just spent a couple hours painting medieval illuminations!) Just two blocks of fabric. Get markers or (gasp!) embroidery for the seal! Heh, on the other hand, it would be easier to just buy one. You can indeed fly it alongside the USA flag, at the same height. Up here, Canadian flags are often flown next to US flags. Flag ettiquite dictates that the US flag should be raised first and lowered last, if you're the type that actually raises/lowers flags for nightfall on a vertical flagpole.
Frankencow Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 If you want to purchase a REAL Vatican flag, call Holy Family Religious Goods. 1-800-640-4570
argent_paladin Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 There is no flag police, it is simply custom that these rules have developed concerning the display of the flags. Plus, to say that no country is better than another is simply untrue. One can be specific and say that this country is better than that in economic wealth, sports or resturants. Or one can say that one country is morally better than another. Do you really think that North Korea or Cuba is no better than the UK or Poland? It is pure relativism to say that all countries are equal. Just as human beings are all equal in one sense but not in others, so are countries.
