Cathurian Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Oh good -- now I don't have to feel unfaithful to the Church. I did my best to answer in accordance with Church teaching.
thessalonian Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Fundamentalist 81% Cultural Creative 69% Idealist 50% Postmodernist 44% Romanticist 44% Existentialist 25% Modernist 6% Materialist 0%
Laudate_Dominum Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005
I got Romanticist at 69% It's confusing!!
Yeah, some of the things are tricky. I don't like it.
Anastasia13 Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 What does #3 "Life has been a self-alienation of the divine and we're moving closer to realizing our true nature." mean?
Laudate_Dominum Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005
What does #3 "Life has been a self-alienation of the divine and we're moving closer to realizing our true nature." mean?
It means whatever you want it to mean. That's the problem with the quiz, too subjective. But I took it to mean that we are God, alienated from our Divinity and that the goal of life is to realize that you are in fact God. Obviously I rejected this proposition entirely. It's pretty twisted. But there are new agey sorts who say carp like that.
Anastasia13 Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 You scored as Cultural Creative. 94% Cultural Creative 38% Fundamentalist 38% Postmodernist 38% Romanticist 31% Existentialist 19% Modernist 19% Idealist 13% Materialist

Socrates Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 (edited) Romanticist 63% Cultural Creative 50% Fundamentalist 50% Postmodernist 25% Existentialist 13% Modernist 6% Materialist 6% Idealist 0% You scored as Romanticist. Romanticism encourages society to look backwards to find our solutions. Your rationale is that things were much better a few hundred years ago so we should thus look back to those times and replace them in our modern society. You believe in a simple life and that the complexities of the modern world have turned it upside down. Edited July 21, 2005 by Socrates
Socrates Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005
tee-hee, nice Socrates. hehe
I fixed it. Why can't this board handle html?? Anyway, it's a pretty silly quiz.

reelguy227 Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Thats me . :-) You scored as Fundamentalist. Fundamentalism represents a movement in opposition to Modernism, stressing the highest importance on foundational religious tradition. Science has brought on corruption of society. God is real and is watching. Scripture leaves little room for interpretation; man is Gods creation. About a quarter of the population in the U.S. is classified as Fundamentalist. Jaime Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Just for giggles I put down neutral for all the answers 73% Culturally creative There's a problem with this quiz
Cathurian Posted July 22, 2005 Author Posted July 22, 2005 I put neutral for question 3 because I interpreted self-alienation as either what Laudate Dominum said, or that we alienate ourselves from God and don't realise it's our nature to love and serve him. One is very true, the other very false.
reelguy227 Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I agree with Cathurian on the self alienation thing.
Laudate_Dominum Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005
I put neutral for question 3 because I interpreted self-alienation as either what Laudate Dominum said, or that we alienate ourselves from God and don't realise it's our nature to love and serve him. One is very true, the other very false.
I agree there are different ways the read the statements in the quiz. But I would answer based on what I considered to be the likely meaning for the person(s) who created the quiz (and thus the criteria for evaulating the results). So in the case of question 3, I assumed they intended a new age interpretation of the statement.
