Star Wars is a great film, don't get me wrong. But I stopped comparing them other than both are trilogys.

The truth can be difficult sometimes, but it's just flat out true. As far as just judging the movies.. hmm.. LOTR is just a better piece of film too, for all the great aspects of Star Wars, it just doesn't have it all. But still, props to Star Wars!

MissScripture Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 (edited) I had to go with I love them both...I don't think that as movies go, LOTR is as brilliant as Star Wars, because Star Wars was created to be a movie. So much in LOTR had to be edited out or changed because of the limits of the cinema. But the LOTR books surpass the Star Wars books, because Tolkien was a genius. And, heck, all the Star Wars books aren't even written by the same person. I love both, but if I had to chose one, it'd have to be Star Wars, because I grew up with Star Wars.
