Hey Phat Pham,

Ok so i ordered my purity ring and it comes in on time so all is going well. Then that same day i brought it into the jewelry store and got my finger sized. Well this being my first ring i wasnt 100% sure how it should fit. So i went with the 7.5 instead of the 7. I asked them if they could have it done for Saturday because i would like for it to be blessed for Sunday (tommorow). Well i got it back today and i put it on and at first i thought not a bad fit. Then i was taking it off and it only needed maybe 1 half turn and it just slid off :(. So now i dont think im going to bother getting it blessed and i will have to bring it in and get it sized down another half size, wait another week and then get it blessed. I wish i just had picked the 7 in the first place. Well if at first you dont suceed, try again. Its just unfortunate that i cant wear it all this week. Well enough of my complaining just thought i would get it off my chest. Thanks for listening Pham

your fingers can grow and shrink with water weight...mine do so to the point that I can put a ring on the in the morning easily, but it won't come off later that day.

The thing is im pretty active and i would like for it to stay on my finger for probably another 5 years or so... I hardly have to twist at all for the ring to come off, so im a little worried about having it fall off while im playing a sport of doing something were im moving constantly, or worse while im swimming

Thank you Curtins.

Im talking with Fr. next week when he returns from his vacation. Im looking forward to sitting down with him and begin the conversion. Also to be able to just talk about anything and everything with him. I talked to him a few minutes after Mass one day and he seems very easy to talk too. (I'm sure that is how almost every Priest is which makes its easy to talk to any of them in the Catholic Church)

Also, if you're active...doing something with your hands, so more blood is flowing to them your fingers will swell a little...so don't get it sized too small.

Some days, mine fits perfect, and others, if i wiggle my finger, it falls off. :idontknow:

yea like just now i was like well let me check and see if its any different and now i can slide it on and off without having to wiggle the ring at all to get it off... I think im going to do one half size smaller and that should do it, because 6.5 would be way to small. i mean never should a ring slide on and off in my opinion.

This reminds me that i need to clean my ring. From wearing it so often, its gotten a bit tarnished looking. I guess it doesnt really matter, but its nice if it looks good too.

see Fidei, what would you do without me haha

Yea so i made up my mind. Im going to wait a week for my ring to be blessed and im going to bring it to the jeweler and get it resized yet again and im going to triple check the size this time so i wont have to do this again haha. Thank you Phat Pham for listening to me complain and helping me with this. :)

When you go to the jewelry store, they should have fake rings that they use to check your proper size.

Yea i tried on the 7.5 at the store and at the time thought it would be ok. I was apparently wrong haha. When i tried on the 7 now that i think of it it was perfect. Snug going on but comfortable once it was over the knuckle.

You have one as well LTC :). I think it will be a great reminder in times of need and struggle.

The jeweler didn't size your finger to be sure? Shame on them! If its a metal like gold or silver if it feels a little tightat first its ok, they are what they call "warm metals" and actually mold to your finger over time. I know it sounds weird, but thats how they explained it to me when we bought our wedding bands. I was feeling a little freaked because they wanted to sell me a size 5 ring and from the sizer I thought it would be way too tight, they explained that the sizer was a cold metal (I think it was steel or something like that) and how gold is warm metal, so the sizer would feel tighter but the gold would be fine.

If you have another ring that is the right size maybe you could wear both of them with the smaller one over top until you can get it sized (thats what I did with my engagement ring lol). :)

Thank you for letting me know about this. That way when i go i can try on the 7 and 6.5 I will keep that in mind when i figure which one fits the best. I wish the jeweler had told me ahead a time about this so that i wouldnt need to go and do this again.

I had my ring blessed today by Fr. so as soon as its resized and i can finally wear it permantly (of course until marriage)

God Bless,
Sean
