theculturewarrior Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 Birds of the air have nests and foxes have dens, but Jesus had nowhere to rest His head. Praise God for this humiliation! I can't afford to pay my rent with all of the obligations I have, and my parents said it would be a bad time for me to move back in, because my sister is moving in. Right now, I'm thinking of asking my pastor if I can park at my parish and sleep in my truck. I know where I can take showers, and I haven't yet figured out how I will cook my meals, but God will provide. I'm just thinking of all the money I will save on gas and rent. This will amuse my coworkers, but God is good, and I will be next door to an Adoration Chapel, God willing. : I think I could use a change of scenery anyway.
zabbazooey Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 (edited) You are taking all of this really well. God bless you. May God watch over you day and night and protect you. Best of luck to you. Edited July 24, 2005 by zabbazooey

zabbazooey Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 you copuld always purchase frozen meals and heat them up at a gas station. Ramen noodles in a cup are cheap and portable too
MilesChristi Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 I admire your trust in the Lord, brother. I know that He will provide for you. Like St. Paul says in this Sunday's epistle, "We know that in everything God works for good with those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose."
homeschoolmom Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 You could always hang out at an adoration chapel...
theculturewarrior Posted July 24, 2005 Author Posted July 24, 2005 It's too soon to worry about this. I apologize if I have concerned any of you. I'm going to let tomorrow take care of itself.
Aloysius Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 I've slept in my car before: just make sure you leave your keys in the seat cushion under where you are sleeping so it'd be impossible to retreive them without waking you up (so someone couldn't just slip into your pockets. lock the doors, and have some object, maybe a baseball bat, just in case you needed to get someone away. you could also use mase. church parking lots are probably the safest place. Walmart encourages people to use thier facilities if they have an RV or something and are traveling/sleeping in it, so you could use walmart bathrooms to wash up as much as possible. (they encourage this cause they assume you'll end up buyin stuff) a slight crack in your window for air is probably also a good idea. you probably won't have the best nights' sleeps though.

the_rev Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 Well if you'd be staying next to the adoration chapel adn if it is perpetual you could just stay there
theculturewarrior Posted July 24, 2005 Author Posted July 24, 2005 I need to trust God with my finances because I haven't been and that's why I'm posting this.
Aloysius Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 we're all obligated to tithe as much as we are able.
theculturewarrior Posted July 25, 2005 Author Posted July 25, 2005 I think I found a place to stay. Thank you for praying, and apologies for being alarmist.
