theculturewarrior Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 The beautiful thing about being Catholic is that I don't have to wonder. I don't have to ask, as Pilate did, "What is Truth?" Every Sunday, every day if I want to, I can taste the Truth, in the Flesh. I can see it. I can have it on the tip of my tongue. I can gaze at the Truth for an hour if my heart so desires. The beautiful thing about being Catholic is that I don't have to search for the Truth anymore. I just have to let Him teach me.

Didacus Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 AMEN! One of the reasons I love being Catholic: I have over 1 000 000 000 friends that share my faith. (can't have that anywhere else)

theculturewarrior Posted July 25, 2005 Author Posted July 25, 2005
theculturewarrior, you truly are a blessing.
I like compliments, but please pray that God give me the grace of humility for every compliment you give. He is the Author of Life, and if anything I write is edifying, and if it is true, that is what my Author has written in me. Compliments might tempt me to plagiarize Him, though. So, as a general request to everybody, please pray for me, for humility. I wouldn't be asking this, if I didn't need it.

The beauty I find is that many protestants believe we are brainwashed and limited by Church Tradition. I find that it has the opposite effect. As we are bounded by the commandments and that frees our moral life, so Tradition actually frees us to go deeper in to the scriptures and gain a deeper understanding. Bound by sacred oral tradition it never ceases to amaze me the new things that I can find in scripture. Wheras with the sola scriptura system one it seems must run down many dead ends that contribute little to deepening and understanding. Praise God for his Church. Blessings
let_go_let_God Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 TCW that is so beautiful and true. I can't really put words to how amazing that is. God bless- LGLG
