Maccabeus Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 at the moment I'm reading this book by St. Alphonsus Liguori called "Hail Holy Queen" in one part of the book it talks about how, When people at their hour of death are tempted by the devils who want to win the soul, it also says that those devoted to Mary die a peaceful and happy death because Mary will protect them, and even has the power to send angels from heaven to protect and take away the devils, and that she comes to take them into her Son's Kingdom. ....So my question here is, Catholicism is the worlds largest religion, so there are people dieing all the time, So how does Mary keep up with all of these people, on the other hand I can't think that she would be omni-present because I think only God is that way... What do you think?
Laudate_Dominum Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 God gives those who are in heaven the capacity for such things. Consider that our end is deification (theosis), a partaking of the Divine Nature. To make my answer simple, Our Lady is united to God and God can make her capable of this for time and all of that are not as they are to us. And Mary is united to God and shares in His energies. And she is not omni-present as God is, but God makes her as close to this as possible. Consider some saints who could bilocate. It is something like this but on a much larger scale. Regards
