nikkan_hanil Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 As much as I shamefully like to laugh at other's stupidity, that's just wrong. >_>
thessalonian Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb duuuuuumb de-dumb.
track2004 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 It's getting international press so on one front it's actually kinda working. Art exists to make people think, convey a feeling, or relate a story. I think this qualifies as the first.
Carnanc Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 does seem a little wasteful, but now that I've read this, I'm going to be thinking more about how I use water.
Lil Red Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005
dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb duuuuuumb de-dumb.
agreed.
kateri05 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 sorry, not art to TURN ON YOUR FAUCET. thats lame and dumb. plus, you're not proving a point about wasting water by wasting MORE water. thats like blowing up abortion clinics to "save babies". duuuuhhh
thessalonian Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 (edited)
does seem a little wasteful, but now that I've read this, I'm going to be thinking more about how I use water. Guest Eremite Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Why doesn't he just go on a water strike, instead of depriving others of good water? A man crippling up and dying with dehydration would really turn heads. Then again, nobody gave a darn when it happened to Terri Shiavo...
Sirklawd Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 i was going to post about how dumb and stupid this guy is. but like.. lets say the issue of abortion. in the same sense I can imagine a pro-life person who is SO fed-up that people still continue to kill babies that they would just flip out and go on a kill-spree (somehow killing unborn babies) - and doing so publically so everyone can see how awful it is. Like a "last straw" attempt to change people's views on the subject. is this right? NOOOO.. the end doesnt justify the means. am I screwed up for seeing that that mindset could be possible.. perhaps
Didacus Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 (edited) It's nice to hear about the occasional dumbf*** who is actually dumber than myself! They make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Edited July 26, 2005 by Didacus
Cathurian Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 Actually, if you read the rest of the article, you'll see what else he did in the name of art. That's not art, either.
Ash Wednesday Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Bwaaaahahaha... this isn't far from where I'm going to school! http://clublet.com/c/c/house?page=MarkMcGowan (No, it's not exactly WHERE I am going to get my art education....)
Theoketos Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 This about sums it up.
Ash Wednesday Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 SAUSAGE CHIPS AND BEANS 2003 Mark sat in a bath of beans with two chips stuck up his nose and 48 sausages strapped to his head for two weeks, he was advocating the consumption of the much maligned British breakfast. I can't wait to live in London. :
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 This sure sounds like art:
ARTIST KEYS CAR 2005 In another controversial performance Mark wanderd the streets of South East London randomly keying cars.
And how about this:
AUTUMN LEAVES PROTEST 2004 Mark nailed his feet to the gallery wall protesting against leaves.
Didacus Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 am I the only one who gets the impression this guy is just acking for attention? Maybe all he really needs is to grow up a little.
Ash Wednesday Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 He must have had the same prof that I had in undergraduate studies -- showing us slides of people licking jello from a Volkswagen Bug. You know, that whole "is art product or process?" hullabaloo.
