StColette Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I wanted to write and say thank you to everyone who has been praying for me over the past week and a half. As many of you know I've been trying to find a cosigner for a Alternative loan so that I could attend Steubenville this Fall. I was unable to find a cosigner so I'm going to have to cancel my admissions for this Fall. But of course there is always Spring semester . I'll be taking a semester off entirely from school and working so I can save up some money and thus won't have to take out such a large loan. Plus I'll be able to build up credit which means I won't have to have a cosigner. God has a reason for me not attending Steubie this Fall, and I guess I shall find out what that is as the months go by. Thanks again to all God Bless, Jen
kateri05 Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 oh jennie, i'm sorry best wishes in your semester off (maybe you could take some gen eds at local college to give yourself breathing room once you get to steubie?) and much prayers! will you still have all your scholarships and such if you defer until spring?

Yeah I'll have to reapply for Fin Aid, but I should be able to get the same amount as I would have had for Fall. I won't be able to take classes this Fall because I'd already canceled my admissions with my old college and I haven't filled any Fin Aid stuff out for them. My sis and dad agree that a semester off will probably do me some good, and plus I'll be working. But you don't have to be sorry I'm okay with not going. It's kinda a shock but I'm fine Very much at peace
zealousrap Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 another option is going to Jefforson Community College in steubenville...like 5 minutes from FUS. You can still be there around the campus community and take classes that will transfer in. A lot of people do that....as a matter of fact that is what I most likely will be doing this fall. Pray about it, if God is leading you there it will work out.

I would have to pay housing expenses if I did that lol
Carrie Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I'm sorry things didn't work out as planned. God knows what's best. I'm sure He's got some good reason for holding you off a semester. Continued prayers!

Old_Joe Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 There are only three answers to prayer: Yes, No, I've got something better, or Yes, but not right now.
Thy Geekdom Come Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Yes, I should speak here as well... Jen is right. I brushed it off at first, thinking it was some minor obstacle that would be resolved like all those other curveballs Steubie threw at us, but then I started getting really worried and anxious...kinda wanted to yell at God a few times, but knew I couldn't. God kept sending me little messages...Sunday's second reading ("All things work for good for those who love Him")...stuff like that, but I kept resisting and they'd only do a bit of good. What really got me was last night when I was browsing and opened to a page where Fr. Benedict Groeschel was talking about the importance of our not having a plan, lest we think that the plan is really what God wants. Yeah, this was a huge disappointment...but I'm okay with it now...I even can see it as a blessing, because as I well know, it is an answer from God...and that answer is, "no...I have something better planned...just wait another semester." He's really been quite good to us and granted us many graces and miracles. At least I'm sure no matter what that I'm doing His will in this, because I've submitted my will to His.
