mortify Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Pax Vobiscum, Ive fallen deeply for chants, particularly benedictine and gregorian, I'm curious whether the *way* they sing the chants has any significance?
Pio Nono Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 JMJ 9/1 - Twenty-second Thursday mortify, Though I'm not sure what you mean by "way", I think I can guess with some accuracy, and yes, the way they chant is important. Slower, deeper chants are for more solemn occasions, as well as when grieving is appropriate, while quicker, rapid chanting (if such a thing exists! : ) tends to occur on occasions of great joy and cheer. Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono
