Engagement

I heard once that it is reccomended that an engagement should last between 6 months and 1 year...does the Church suggest this?

In Australia there is no set time for an engagemant, however the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference mandated 6 months notice be given for the notification and booking a church for a wedding, but 12 months is preferred.
