I can't believe the convo I just had w/ my brother

as i was happy as could be to see two baptisms during mass. i mean, its a beautiful thing to see a child initiated into the family of God. i was just sittin there praying, "pleeeease grow up and be an awesome catholic!!"

Nick, I know I mentioned this to you previously, but your problem sounds like the problem I have with my sister. She's not Catholic and doesn't seem to care one whit about God. Heck, she never even goes to church except when she comes home to visit, and even then it's my parents' church. If I mention something God-related she just rolls her eyes. I try to be a good example, but like you, I don't feel like it says anything to her either. So all I can do is pray for her, which I do all the time.

its a constant source of sadness for me, for real. and it just kills me that the only thing i can do is pray. talking to them doesn't work. i don't even feel like my example really says anything to them. i think they're just like, "well, matt and nick can do their thing and we'll do ours." we don't even sit together when we go to church anymore b/c they always want to stand in the very back so they can leave after communion and b/c they feel awkward when matt and i are the only ones kneeling after the FREAKIN Agnus Dei (see how much scandal these liturgical abuses cause!!!!!!!!!!!)

We're in the same boat brother.....My brother is fallen away. Although he is sending my 4 year old nephew Michael to Catholic school....go figure.
