Just an FYI, (a little late but what the heck) Sam's Club has some really nice frames and the magnetics as well. You can't always use insurance there but its a great place to get the dreaded "back up" glasses that we all need.

Brother Adam Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I got my eyeglasses from Wal-Mart now that I have no insurance and they were still way too expensive cause I have really bad eyesight. It cost $325 mainly due to the lenses. I have to buy the ultra thin lenses or I look like I'm wearing hockey pucks

Mine are literally coke bottle glasses and I can't get them any thinner.

I believe mine is like a -8.5 or something. i just know it is really really bad. I can't read the alarm clock unless I'm two inches away from it.

I totally need to get a new pair, but I'm kind of waiting until it gets desperate... or until my last pair of contacts get thrown away. Then I can get the 'scrip for both at the same time and get one first, and then wait a couple months and get the other. Adrienne keeps mangling the arms on my glasses, though, so I know that crucial time is coming. lol
