Proud2BCatholic139 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 My friend Tom and I were talking about this topic a few months ago. Well, here is my question, I talked to my priest about it, but for some reason, he didn't fully answer my question. So, anyway, as Mary promised as we died with the scapular on, and pray daily devotions to her with the scapular, we will never suffer eternal fire. Well, I know this may sound dumb, but what if you die with a mortal sin on your soul, and you don't remember you have one. Will you go to the land down under?
cappie Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 From the Catechism: 1857 For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: "Mortal sin is sin whose object is grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent." It would be unusual that someone "died with the scapular on, and pray daily devotions to her with the scapular, " would be in Mortal Sin
