ryanmeyersmusic Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 we do blockbuster online as well and love it. if you like movies, it's definitely worth it. at one point when we were trying to build up our queue we grabbed a list of academy award winners and watched like the last 20 years' worth of best pictures...
Paladin D Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005
Is it worth it, IceP?
Yes it is. Though I don't mind going to the movie rental, they tend to have some films I cannot find, or if I find them they're all used up. With either Online Blockbuster or Netflix, there are no late-fees and you can order up to a few at a time at a low monthly fee.
Jaime Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005
Raph, you'll be pleased to know I just added all 27 MST3K titles Netflix has to our queue.

I love MST3K!! My favorite is the short Mr. B Natural... And speaking of really, really bad movies... Has anyone seen Plan 9 From Outter Space? I stayed up until 2 oclock once to tape it (It started at 2). Holy cow! It was bad...
When it was still on tv, we would watch MST3K all the time. (I personally thought Joel was funnier than Mike) But have you ever watched MST with someone who tried to MST along with them? OMG we used to beat the newbies senseless with wiffle bats when they did that
homeschoolmom Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005
When all else fails, rent The Princess Bride.
That's my philosophy...
Is it worth it, IceP?
Well worth it. If you spend at least 10 bucks a month (which gives you 3 movies at a time) going to and from Blockbuster (or other video rental places) and like to rent movies alot you will love Netflix. They say that you can expect your movies to arrive in a certain number of days (I forget now exactly how many.... I want to say 4 buisness days?) but its nearly always less than that, free shipping, etc. We pay about 18 a month and get up to 5 movies at a time. I couldn't tell you how many we go through in a month, I think its definately less than a buck per movie (plus no late fees). Plus you can get just about any TV series you can think of, OLD movies that you can never find.... they just have a superb selection. I turned one of my friends on to Netflix and she even gets Baby Einstein stuff for her kids.

White Knight Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 My mom is resgistered to netflix, its good too, get to keep them as long as you want.... send them through the mail and return them by mail, they send the others. From what I hear theres a wider collection of films now with netflix, which makes it better than Hollywood Video or Blockbuster IMO.
IcePrincessKRS Posted August 5, 2005 Author Posted August 5, 2005 Yeah, you just fill up your queue and then they ship them out as soon as you return them, we have movies coming or going constantly (we got one in the mail today). lol Once you get and return your first movie(s) you will pretty much always have at least one in the house. Even if you only had movie nights over the weekend and didn't watch anything on weeknights it would be worth it.
