Thy Geekdom Come Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 John Wesley Mine is SO not even a close description...
Guest Eremite Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005
"God will not suffer man to have the knowledge of things to come; for if he had prescience of his prosperity he would be careless; and understanding of his adversity he would be senseless." You are Augustine! You love to study tough issues and don't mind it if you lose sleep over them. Everyone loves you and wants to talk to you and hear your views, you even get things like "nice debating with you." Yep, you are super smart, even if you are still trying to figure it all out. You're also very honest, something people admire, even when you do stupid things.
Surprisingly accurate. :

I've not seen that answer from there before. Edited August 5, 2005 by Light and Truth

Thumper Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 I got John Wesley, too. Which, frankly, is making me a bit paranoid. Not that I'm complaining. Or arguing. Please be friends with me! Don't go away!!!! "You are John Wesley! When things don't sit well with you, you make a big production and argue your way through everything. You complain a lot, but, at least you are a thinker and not afraid to show it. You are also pretty liked by people, and pretty methodological about your life and goals. You know where you're going. Some people find you irritating, so watch out for people leaving you out of things they do."
Anastasia13 Posted August 5, 2005 Author Posted August 5, 2005 (edited) I got Karl Barth, but almost got Augustine. I don't know that I'm that stubborn against authority, but otherwise, it's not that far off. The quote is very me in some ways. "We reject the false doctrine that the church could have permission to hand over the form of its message and of its order to whatever it itself might wish or to the vicissitudes of the prevailing ideological and political convictions of the day." You are Karl Barth! You like your freedom, and are pretty stubborn against authority! You don't care much for other people's opinions either. You can come up with your own fun, and often enough you have too much fun. You are pretty popular because you let people have their way, even when you have things figured out better than them. Fidei Defensor Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 "You are John Calvin! You're the most intellectual and thoroughly intense theologian on the block. You know what you're talking about and you recommend people to ignore you at their own risk. Yeah, baby, you know your stuff. You speak in riddles and confuse people for fun. Still, this hurts your social skills a lot... and you end up always appearing arrogant and rude." Hmm i can see a connection.

Laudate_Dominum Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005
You are Desiderius Erasmus! You have great love for others and will do just about anything to show it to them. You are tolerant and avoid confrontations, so people generally are drawn to you. You are more quiet and reserved in front of strangers, but around some people you open up. When things get tough, you like to meditate alone. Unfortunately you often get things like "what a pansy," or "you're such a liberal."
LOL!! What a crock! Some if it sounds true, but I don't identify with Erasmus in the least. haha I wasn't expecting that. I am more quiety and reserved in front of strangers, but so are a gazillion other people; it's pretty normal. And I can't say I've ever been called a pansy, and the only peopel who have ever called me liberals were practically sedevacantists. haha

Laudate_Dominum Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 hahaha!!! I went through the test again and put in what I though Luther might say and behold: You are Martin Luther! Yeah, you have a way of letting everyone know how you feel, usually with Bible quotes attached, and will think your way through the issues, although sometimes you make no sense! You aren't always sure of yourself, and you can change your mind about things, something you actually consider a strength. You can take solitude, especially with some music.
