ThomasPeter Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 i was wondering, are there any writtings of the Apostles other then what is in Holy Scripture? or is HS all we have from them (in terms of writtings). thanks! tom
Carson Weber Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 We do not currently possess any writings of the Apostles other than what is contained in the Scriptures.
Cam42 Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 If you are speaking of inspired writings, Carson is correct.....if, however, you are speaking of non-inspired works or apocryphal works, then there are many..... Some that come to mind are: Protoevangelium Jacobi (Infancy Gospel of James) Transitus Mariae Gospel of the Hebrews Gospel of St. Peter Gospel of St. Philip Gospel of St. Thomas Gospel of St. Bartholomew Gospel of the Twelve Apostles Gospel of Barnabas there is even a Gospel of Judas Iscariot. These are not inspired, and should not be considered as such. They are not in harmony with those writings that have been deemed as such. There may, however, be historical and societal credence to them.
