prose Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 So, I was outside with my 2 year old in our wading pool area, and after about 10 minutes, a bee started hovering by me, so I swatted it, and it seemed to go away, about 2 minutes later I looked, and there was a few bees sitting on the side of the pool.... then a few more... then some more. They weren't approaching us, just seeming to multiply on the sides of the pool, so I quietly wrapped up and went inside. Does anyone know why this may have happened? It went from no bees at all to liek 10-15 sitting around the pool.... Taunting me... : strange....

God bless- LGLG

philothea Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Once, while out running, my husband and I ran into (literally) a swarm of bees. They were all equally spaced from each other in a great big buzzing cloud, flying slowly across the road. Husband said, "BEES!!!" and took off. (He's practically all legs.) I did what I could to catch up. The bees just moved around us and went on their way. Might have been a young queen and followers starting a new hive. It was kind of cool... once they were well gone.
Paladin D Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 One day early in the morning, I went to mow the lawn (the kind you ride on). There were wasps, bees, hornets, etc, in groups of about 12 each, and several of these groups dotted the 4-5 acres I had to cut. So, decked out with long jeans, long sleeve shirt, boots, hat, sunglasses, even a mask over my mouth (in 90 degree sunny weather), I mowed for about 20 minutes through these mini-swarms of flying creatures. They didn't bother me much at all, they would just fly away from the mower. Though eventually I had to go in because I was about to pass out, went back out when it got cooler and finished the work (takes 3 hours to mow that area of our yard). But overall, I hate wasps and spiders.
Guest T-Bone Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I've been stung several times this summer, knocking down yellow jacket nests. They seem to know when I'm coming, and there's not a single yellow jacket to be seen when I get to it...
Tony Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I hate Bees, Wasps, Hornets, anything with a stinger.. A Wasp got me 4 or 5 times when I was a little kid, ever since.. I have been absolutly terrified of those types of things
