Dave Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I just received this e-mail regarding my upcoming trip to World Youth Day from a friend at my parish. Of course, there's already a thread on here about Rescate, but how does one respond to an article filled with such nastiness? I don't know where it came from, but it sounds like it's from an SSPX publication or worse! + JMJ AMDG Dave: I came across this article and thought that you might be interested in it. I hope that you might cancel your tip or if you get there and see these scandalous things that you might do the right thing and get out of there. I will be praying for you. God Bless, James
Pope's Rock Band Disses the Pontiff Rescate Rock Band These Outspoken Heretics and Rejectors of the Catholic Papacy Were Selected to Be Featured "Performers" At the Pope's World Youth Day This August One of the worst scandals of the modern papacy is the institution of Mundialis Iuventutis Dies, known in English as World Youth Day, the brainchild of the Pope, JPII. Started in Rome in 1985, it quickly turned into a biennial New Order Woodstock. The supposed "Catholic" youth sacrilegious dressedly up in bishops' miters, trashed churches, staged immoral "rock" concerts, and generally behaved like a mob no better than the gang in Stanley Kubrick's Clockwork Orange. If Pope Benedict XVI were anything like the pope the "conservatives" make him out to be, he would shut WYD down in a New York second! But, no, not only is he letting the XXth World Youth Day in Cologne August 21 go on; he himself is going to attend! In fact he made this papal Woodstock a hallmark of his papacy with the following insipid verbiage in his First Speech, the day after his election: Nominatim cogitamus adulescentes. So now Our Lord Jesus Christ is characterized by his vicar as "Eternal Youth"! Notice that the pope is not properly exercising his papal office here. His office is to teach and rule, yet here is going to "dialogue" (colloqui). These post-Vatican II popes don't seem to consider themselves popes. At least they don't usually exercise the office in any Catholic way. We seriously doubt that Pope Benedict XVI is going to elevate world youth with his own pianistic renditions of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata or Mozart's piano sonatas, of which he said to be so fond of playing. No, he is actually allowing the Argentinean rock band Rescate to perform there. As if the presence of a rock band at what is supposed to be a religious event weren't bad enough, the members of this rock band have made openly heretical statements to the press. The eight-member Argentinean rock band, in an interview with the Chilean web site Musica123, clearly enunciated the Protestant heresy when it said: "Personally, we don't think the pope is God's representative on earth. Jesus came to do away with any intermediary between God and man, and therefore we have a direct relationship with Him.... We are followers of Christ beyond any specific identity.... Therefore, why divide Jesus even more when in reality He came for all of mankind? Religion is responsible for creating these differences." [Catholic News] We are also informed that the rock band JCroix, run by Newchurch French "monks," will also be present at WYD. This group was allowed in 2004 to use the traditional Cathedral of Metz to dance around the Novus Ordo table to techno music. Present at the WYD sacrilege this year will be a contingent of the indultarian Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP). It just goes to show how closely these "indult" groups are handmaiden of the New Order. What a deplorable fall WYD is from the Eucharistic Congresses held before the advent of the New Order, when not only youth, but all Catholics would join in worshipping the Most Blessed Sacrament with the Traditional Latin Mass, Benediction, and other traditional Latin devotions, elevated by the Sacred Chant and Sacred Polyphony, not lowered to the sewer with that immoral rock garbage that sadly corrupts the minds of post-conciliar youth. Pope Benedict XVI should be ashamed to permit this garbage to pollute the minds and hearts of the world youth that he claims to love so much.
HomeTeamFamily Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 man just brush your shoulders off and move on........if you know in your heart your supposed to go to WYD....then just go the more you feel pulled toward God, the more satans going to try and pull you away....dont be phased man
Birgitta Noel Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Yeah Dave, the Seattle Catholic has been known to dis on WYD as well. Sigh, not sure how to respond to this. Perhaps the best thing to say is "by their fruits we shall know them"? There are good and bad folks in every bunch, WYD not excluded. I'd say that as for Rescate that the resolution of that problem is in the hands of the WYD organizers, not Pope B XVI. WYD seeks to catechise and lead youth to Christ. As for the dialogue that will occur between the Pope and the youth, it's not as if he's asking them to revise his latest encyclical or weigh in on a possible revocation of humane vitae or something. Ok, I should stop lest I say something less than charitable if I haven't done that already!
Birgitta Noel Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 PS Perhaps you should invite James to join you in Germany? Did I just say that out loud? Sorry....
FlyLikeABird Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Who wrote that slime? I was at WYD in Toronto and I saw none of theses things:
The supposed "Catholic" youth sacrilegious dressedly up in bishops' miters, trashed churches, staged immoral "rock" concerts, and generally behaved like a mob no better than the gang in Stanley Kubrick's Clockwork Orange. Dave Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 Who wrote it, you ask? That's what I'd like to know myself!
Old_Joe Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I've said it before and I'll say it again, WYD in the land of chocolate what's wrong with that?

CatholicAndFanatical Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 fear not Dave. WYD has always been a moving event for the youth. I remember watching it on EWTN when JPII The Great was there, couldnt stop my emotions. I think if that rock band really believes what was quoted above, maybe a few thousand emails to the groups manager and label would make them not perform. This is a Catholic event right? But to not go because of it, that wouldnt make sense. Go and have fun!
Spiritual_Arsonist Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Go to WYD Dave!!! The band REMNANT has "I'm a papist" T-shirts at their web site, get one of those goodies. Or, you could learn to strum a guitar and made up smooth songs for our Holy Father. Maybe we could form a band. Maybe call it Dave and Dave?
Dave Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 LOL ... Dave and Dave ... cool!! Btw, I found where the article comes from. I won't link to the site, but it's called Traditio.com. That site doesn't think the Novus Ordo Mass is valid and just bashes the Holy Father and the hierarchy left and right about everything under the sun.

Theologian in Training Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Funny stuff. I found that if you take all of those things serious and let them get the best of you, it will only drive you crazy. Have a good laugh, thank them for the article, and go to World Youth Day. God Bless
