Guest Guest Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I often get chain emails and I am not sure what to do with them. They are excellent at laying on the guilt trip. They might say something like don't be ashamed of God, if you are not ashamed, send this to your friends. Or maybe something like John Periwinkle's daughter has cancer of the left toenail and is also lost in the amazon rainforest so please pray for her and send this on and ask others to pray for her. What should I do? Should I send these on? Which ones should I send and which ones should I not send?
phatcatholic Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 I usually delete them. God knows your heart. He does not need you to send an email to 2,384 people in order to prove that to Him. If the email is polite and I feel that my friends may receive some edification from it, then I might send it. But if there is ever a guilt trip attached, I don't. Deleting a chain email means nothing, and has no bearing on your relationship with the Lord. The only guilt that should motivate you is that which comes from the conviction of sin.
