mariology21 Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I'm not too sure if this is the right place to be posting this question.....if it's not feel free to move it! Are there certain times when the Hours should be prayed? I know that Morning prayer should be prayed in the morning, Evening prayer in the evening etc. but should they be prayed at certain times? Or just sometime in the morning and evening? I'm assuming (and I try) that Morning prayer should be prayed before or as close as doing anything during the day. And Evening prayer around 5-6ish at the close of the day? I'm just curious if there were set times. Thanks! ~Jen
dspen2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 in the past -- well, even now amongs monastic orders and contemplatives- there are set times. orders that pray the entire Office daily, start at o'dark-thirty.... for the layperson, the Church does not demand nor require a fixed time. Whatever time you find works for you, then that is the time for morning prayer, the same for evening prayer....
