Anastasia13 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 What version of the Bible do you most often use?
Thy Geekdom Come Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 NAB...I can't really afford the others...
littleflower+JMJ Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 D-R!! you can find them at half-price books for CHEAP!! i am running away from NAB.....
Cam42 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 It depends..... Devotion.....either the Douay-Rheims or Navarre Scholarship......Latin Vulgate (seriously) or RSV-CE General posting......either the Douay-Rheims or NAB Apologetics.....RSV-CE, various Protestant versions, NKJV and KJV, being the most used outside of the RSV-CE
thessalonian Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 (edited) RSV It's the best. Edited August 9, 2005 by thessalonian

White Knight Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 King James Version and New King James Version but I wanna try the New American Bible Translation.
cmotherofpirl Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 New English Bible for enjoyment, St Ignatius or Navarre for apologetics.
Funky_R Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 (edited) I use a regular NAB, a Catholic Study Bible NAB (both with footnotes), and My First Bible (not sure if it's Catholic, but I love the illustrations) : Also happen to have a pocket KJV with Proverbs, Psalms, and the New Testament. EcceNovaFacioOmni Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 The NAB (minus the notes) and D-R because they are both readily available online. I wish the RSV-CE or the lectionary edition of the NAB without the footnotes was online...
Nathan Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 The Jerusalem Bible (1966) for devotional reading; the RSV-CE for serious study. These are my go-to translations. But I also own and read the NRSV-CE (I live in Canada, and it's the translation our lectionary is based upon), the NAB, and the Douay-Rheims.
ReinnieR Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005
New American Bible. I love the footnotes!
the foot notes are awesome
