Well for me, I saw the movie before I ever read the book. I absolutely LOVE the movie (I'm a sappy hopeless romantic, what can I say...) but I really liked the book also! I'm a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks' books though. He is great. I think I liked the movie more actually, because it went into their relationship in their younger years more...like when they first met and dated and whatnot...that's the part that I enjoyed most.

But that's just me. ^_^

well... you see michelle was like you have to read the book before you watch the movie... and she was like you... she saw the movie then read the book... but i was telling her last night... i think the reason i liked the book better was because... its was easier for me to connect with Noah in the book then Noah in the movie... i dont why... maybe becuase i was under the impression that their relatioship as teenagers was different to say the least... but i dont know... i liked the way the movie portrayed it... its just... it wasnt what i thought it was like... i guess thats the problem with reading a book first and then watching the movie... you get an idea of waht it was like... and rarely does the movie meet that standard that you have in your head...

Exactly. If I would've read the book first, I bet I would feel the same way. The same thing happened to me when I read "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" books...I loved them and was so stoked when the movie version came out. The movie was good, don't get me wrong, but they changed A LOT of the storyline around, which bugged me. Oh well. It's Hollywood...they've gotta change it for various reasons. ^_^

Indeed. I noticed many of those things also. And yes, the soundtrack was fabulous. :)

sweet... it was kind of funny becuase when we started watching it michelles older brother was like "so waht are you guys watching" and we were like "the notebook" and he was like "oh..." then he pretended like it was lame... then after we came back from miniature golf and crappy coldstone ice cream... he was in the tv room watching it... she made fun of him and he wasl ike "this movie makes me feel lonely"

 I know right! Some guys are afraid to admit that they enjoyed it. My best friend's boyfriend loved it though and wasn't ashamed to let us all know. haha.

I've never read the book, but I did watch the movie. I thought it'd be lame, but I ended up really, really liking it. Let's just say I bawled my eyes out. LOL!

I liked it, but I found the sex scene to be too strong. Then again, I am a little sensitive to those things...

I loved both in different ways. I liked the movie ending better, but the story seemed less choppy in the book. So it's a toss up. :)
